 A new revolutionary authentication method

Over time, it became clear that the promotion of previously unknown paintings of famous artists (such as Van Gogh, Renoir, Claude Monet, Modigliani and many others) — quite a difficult task, requiring big amounts of resources and time. The current situation in recent years — is lack of experts in this area, many expert companies have ceased their activities. And the remaining experts use outdated methods of identification to determine the authenticity of the paintings. For a major auction houses the main proof of authenticity is considered provenance or the presence of a particular work in the catalogue-raisonne.

That is why in several years was created a new method of confirming the authenticity of paintings, which includes both traditional methods (x-ray, infrared equipment, chemical analysis, radiocarbon analysis) and the latest developments (terahertz equipment, professional computer programs).

The essence of the method is to identify the numerous signatures, marks and seals of the author, which are on the entire surface of any of the genuine paintings.

The initial development of this method was made in Finland by the University of Jyväskylä (Claude Monet's signature was found)(https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/27/claude-monet-haystacks_n_6948590.html), and also in Spain by Professor Antonio Perales (discovered numerous signatures of Goya) (http://www.goyadiscovery.com/).

This is explained by the fact that most famous artists have used a special method of protection against forgery of their works — they left on the inner layers of the paintings a numerous signatures and marks, similar to method of watermarks on banknotes and important documents.
